Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18th on the 18th of July 1994. She also grew up in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. [1][22 Russell, who was born to an African-American father and a white mother, is bi-racial and grew up primarily with her mother's side of the family. She shared that when she was a kid, she was viewed as unwelcome by her peers due to the colour of her skin. Their parents were struggling financially and had to relocate sixteen times in order to pursue her father's job. In spite of this, Russell mentioned how in her younger days "there was always an opportunity for innovation, to design something new."As growing up, Russell was already artistically at first. she would like to pursue a career in ballet. She later wanted to become an artist. She was 18 when she began her first class in acting. She took money from her job in order to purchase an automobile and travel to Los Angeles to audition. Once her savings ran out she would go back to work until she had enough income to audition again. This continued for four consecutive years, until she finally landed her first TV role on television.
