Madekwe was raised by a mixed ethnic family. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss as well as her mom is English. She was born on a south London council estate, as a teenager, she 14, attended The Brit School. In London she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was obtained. Madekwe played Bambi in The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred as the lead character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy made in 2008. Her credits in theatre include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe first aired in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama series aired at The CW for only two episodes, before it was ended. Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's four brothers, all very physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer, so that she grew up playing in baseball and arenas. Ashley did not walk, but she danced, so when she was 2 1/2 years old she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley discovered her love for dancing at the age of. Ashley continued to compete until her high-school graduation with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and much more. In addition, she won top soloists awards in all major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
